UVic Pride has a fund dedicated to provide grants for youth-driven queer/ trans/ 2-spirit initiatives. The purpose of our grant program is to support the wonderful work done by youth in our communities and help alleviate financial barriers.

Who can access the Youth Resource Grant Fund?

The fund is open to youth under the age of 19 who are planning or involved with initiatives, events, or services specifically for queer/ trans/ 2-spirit youth on Turtle Island (so called Vancouver Island).

How much are grants?

UVic Pride offers $100 or $200 grants. If you are planning a large-scale event, we can make exceptions — just ask!

How do I access the grants?

There is an application form available [link: here ]. In order to ensure we can meet as many different requests as possible, we request that additional applications are not submitted until the second half of each semester.

How does funding work?

UVic Pride is unable to write donation cheques to individuals. However, we can write donation cheques to organizations, provide gift cards or reimburse expenses (with receipts). We can always work something out!

Do I need to be a member of a GSA or youth group?

Nope! We recognize that not everyone is involved with these groups, or the event/ initiative they want to organize may not fit within the scope of the group. If you have the ability to plan it, we want to help!

Can I make a donation to the fund?

Absolutely! Please contact [link: pride@uvic.ca ] for more info!
